James Lambert

James Lambert served in the United States Army from 1996 through 2000. He started out in the Communications Field as 31 Uniform and cross trained into Forward Observing as 13 Fox. He was stationed primarily at Fort Carson in Colorado and sent to different locations from there. James’s highest rank was E5 during his enlistment in the Army.

James holds a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Social Work from Texas State University. He also holds an Associate of Science and an Associate of English from Victoria Community College. While attending Texas State University, James helped to develop veteran programs at the university. James is the Peer Service Coordinator for the Travis County Military Veteran Peer Network. He assists veterans, service members, and their families with resources in the area and peer to peer mentoring. He also works closely with the Austin Police Department and the Travis County Sheriff’s Office by conducting trainings for their offices and assisting when they have veteran interactions. James is a peer mentor for the Travis County Veterans Treatment Court.
