Jan Venable, M.Ed., LPC-S is a psychotherapist and counselor with over 25 years of experience. She works with both adolescents and adults. She specializes in working with people in recovery who want to improve their relationships. This includes healing trauma, anxiety, and codependency. She believes one of the most vital elements of mental health is developing our physical health and practicing good nutrition. She advocates for treating the whole person rather than just isolated symptoms.
Jan has extensive experience with adolescents. She finds treating teens with respect and compassion opens many doors. She utilizes many types of therapy, including experiential and informal play therapy, to meet teens where they are developmentally.
Jan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Counseling from Texas State University in San Marcos. Her experience includes working in agency and education settings.
She and her husband have lived in Wimberley, Texas for over 30 years. She is the mother of two adult daughters. Jan loves being surrounded by animals, doing yoga, and tending to her garden.
