Teresa Shigemasa, LPC-S, RPT-S

Teresa Shigemasa, LPC-S, RPT-S is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. She is a native Dallasite who lived and worked in Hawaii for several years. Her experience in Hawaii included domestic violence intervention prevention and school based behavioral health in the elementary and middle schools.

Ms. Shigemasa joined Samaritan Center’s staff in 2011. She has worked with all ages-adults, children, adolescents, and parents. Adding to her repertoire, she is EMDR trained (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She implements EMDR intervention for all populations, including veterans and active-duty military, in effectively addressing trauma. She is a strong proponent for holistic healing, including the integration of spiritual foundations, integrative medicine, and other forms of energetic healing to augment the counseling process.

Ms. Shigemasa works with all mood diagnoses including PTSD, learning disabilities and autism spectrum, and those who are experiencing situational depression and anxiety from common life stressors.

 She has a heart and passion for working with veterans and service members. She has personal experience as a child of a U.S. Army veteran father and as a spouse of an U.S. Air Force veteran. She brings her skills and talents to Samaritan Center’s team by providing clinical support to staff and developing programs.
