Update and Important Announcement from Cindy Long, CEO
At Samaritan Center, we are ending week 5 of working remotely and offering
all of our services through telehealth. We have an all-staff virtual meeting every Thursday morning now, and it is wonderful to hear how our clinicians are meeting this challenge, finding creative ways for working with clients, making play therapy and EMDR work with video conferencing and hearing their commitment to ensuring that clients continue their treatment during this time of increased anxiety, depression, grief and trauma.
Free Services
We are doing all we can to give back to our community and everyone who is suffering through this crisis. We are offering
free services to all First Responders in Central Texas right now, in hopes that we can provide some comfort to these hard-working women and men. We can schedule individual or couples counseling and integrative medicine services, such as acupressure, nutrition counseling, corrective exercise, and meditation.
Partnership with Georgetown Health Foundation
And more good news: thanks to support from Georgetown Health Foundation,
we are proud to announce that we are offering free services to everyone working on the frontlines in Georgetown: First responders in law enforcement, medical personnel, and all staff and volunteers working in social services providing food, financial assistance and other basic needs. We are thrilled to have this opportunity and honored to bring some relief to all of these frontline heroes.

Continuing to Work With Our Military Community
As always,
services for our veterans and military families are free, and we have added several free peer groups facilitated by our own military veteran staff members.
What Does the Future Hold?
While we worry about our finances and how to keep everyone at Samaritan Center employed,
we are doing our best to provide free and low-cost services to everyone in our community who are facing the financial challenges of COVID-19. Call us. Tell your friends and family to call us. And
please consider helping us provide these essential services by making a donation. Every little bit helps as we struggle through this challenging time and brace for the impending mental health crisis to follow.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented change to the lives of people in every county across our state, and, sadly, the stress and pain for many Texans will not end when the immediate risk to life from the pandemic subsides,” said
MMHPI President and CEO Andy Keller, PhD.
Be Well
Take care of yourselves.
Your mental, physical, spiritual and social well-being are so important, and Samaritan Center is devoted to healing hearts, providing hope and enhancing lives for all of our community.
Thinking of all of you,
Cindy
